We went to Lake Placid to check out the athletes preparing for the Lake Placid Ironman Triathalon. It was a beautiful day, and a short hour drive. As you can see, Molly got into the athletic spirit...here she is sitting in a bobsled. (The Olympics were held in Placid in 1980.)
Here is Finn, he is next to Mirror Lake in Lake Placid. The "swim" portion of the race was to take place on this lake. I was amazed to see how far the athletes would swim...TWICE!!
We took Molly's bike with us, and she rode around the parking lot of the ski jump (used for the Olympics). We were too late to go in and see it, it had closed, but Molly rode all over and had a great time...and had a great sleep on the way home!!!! She is really getting fast on her bike.

Gord is wearing a lei that was given to Molly by a nice gentleman, she decided it would look best on Gord!!! ( I think the leis had something to do with the Ironman race in Hawaii, because everyone was wearing them)...I have to tell you, the best part of the trip for me was the ride home...along the bike course...there were great signs that family members had set up for motivation for the participants. It almost made me want to become a triathalete, until I look back at the pictures of the swimming course...NO THANK YOU!!!!
