Molly turned 5!!

Molly turned 5 on April 7th. We went to her favorite restaurant...Samurai Sushi!! Molly just loves to eat the tuna and salmon sashimi, which is a bit odd for most 5 year olds!!!

Molly had been begging for a Bratz Doll...and I have been pretty firm with the answer "NO"! However, I gave in and she was so excited to get the Baby Bratz Mermaid set. It was not as "trampy" as most Bratz dolls, and Molly was so excited to get it. It was the last thing she expected!!!

We had a birthday party the following week with all her friends from preschool. We had the party at Backyard Adventure, a place where they sell swingsets. It is actually the showroom, but they allow for open-play, and parties are always welcome!!

We asked that our guests not bring gifts, instead they were asked to bring cans of food for the local foodbank. I was surprised how much food we received, and was so glad to not have all the gifts, as we have so much all ready. (F.Y.I... Molly's Bratz doll has been in a large ziplock bag untouched for over a month now). As I said...we have SO MUCH ALREADY!!!

We took Molly to the food bank, and she helped sort the food, and stock it on shelves. She even helped a family who had come in for a pick-up...I hope she understands how fortunate we are. Gord and I have decided to make this a family tradition for birthday parties!!

Speaking of cakes, my neighbor made this cake for Molly's party. Molly wanted a "wedding cake", and the theme was a luau party...isn't it beautiful?
