I know, the last time I posted on the blog it was the beginning of November. Where does the time go? It is already March, and the 2009-2010 hockey season is coming to a close...take a look through the posts, and you will get an idea of what we have been up to.
In December, my external hard drive had a mechanical malfunction. All my pictures and video were stored on it...and it is all gone. Well not gone exactly..for the price of $1200-$1800 I can have someone extract it for me. The question is...would you pay that amont of money to get all your photos back? I really haven't lost ALL photos, as you will remember (click here)I lost Molly's 4th birthday pictures. When that happened, I made a CD back-up of all pictures up to April 2008...they are in New York. But from May 2008-November 2009...the photos are gone "securely stored" on this broken hard drive.
But don't cry yet...I have been keeping this blog since April of 2007...and I found out that all of the pictures on this blog are stored in cyberspace. Since this is sort-of a "best of the best" cache of photos...I was able to download over 750 pictures from this blog onto Snapfish...and have them delivered via mail to my home...in picture form and CD. It wasn't cheap, but it was a heck of a lot cheaper than $1200.
So I have my hard drive stowed away for a time when I can afford to retrieve ALL my pictures and videos...but for now I can sleep at night, knowing I have my treasured photos of my kids!
Wait...have you figured out the moral to my story? BACK UP ALL PHOTOS ON TWO SEPERATE DEVICES....don't put it off, because they can be gone in a blink of an eye!!!
So sit back and check out the latest blog posts (including the latest picture format). Oh yeah, just in case....if you come across a word, and it is missing the letter 'u'...it is not that I cannot spell...it is that someone spilt something sticky on my keyboard, and the letter 'u' doesn't always work!!
